Fintech and Mobility Veteran Artur Hasselbach Joins Night Train Startup Nox Mobility as CFO and Co-Founder.
Berlin, 15 January 2026 – Nox Mobility, the Berlin-based startup building a new generation of night trains, has added Artur Hasselbach to its founding team. The fintech entrepreneur and mobility investor joins as CFO and Co-Founder.
Hasselbach brings rare dual expertise: He co-founded payment fintech orderbird in 2011, later acquired by Nexi for over €140 million. With VC firm Zeitgeist, he subsequently invested in rising German fintechs including Bling, UnitPlus, and the private markets fintech NAO, where he is also Chairman of the Board. In parallel, he built extensive mobility experience as co-founder of VW's transporter sharing service ProShare, CVC investor at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, and Venture Partner at the mobility and cleantech fund Rethink Ventures, investing in the next generation of European logistics, supply chain, and mobility tech companies. Additionally, Artur was previously advisor to and board member of door2door, the leading on-demand shared mobility platform, which was acquired by Dubai-based competitor Swvl and later exited via SPAC IPO.
"I've built fintechs, backed mobility startups, and advised corporates. But nothing compares to the energy of an early-stage team going after a massive, meaningful problem. Some opportunities are too big to watch from the sidelines. Nox Mobility is one of them," explains Artur Hasselbach, CFO and Co-Founder of Nox Mobility. “When I met Thibault and Janek, I saw founders who don't just want to run trains, but fundamentally change how Europe moves.”
“Artur has spent over a decade growing startups, ventures, and bold ideas across tech and mobility. With his deep expertise and growth-focus, we know Artur can help bring Nox Mobility from concept to real trains on the tracks. Night trains shouldn't be a nostalgic niche, they should be the backbone of European travel,” says CMO and Co-Founder Thibault Constant, also known as "Simply Railway" with 600k+ followers.
“Building a night train company means navigating complex financing, regulations, and operations all at once. At FlixTrain and Bolt I learnt what it takes to transform good ideas into great companies: the team. With Artur, we've closed the last gap in our founding team,” adds CEO and Co-Founder Janek Smalla.
Nox Mobility plans to launch night trains with fully private rooms at flight-ticket prices from 2027.
